R.B. Choudary, a veteran producer in films who had produced movies in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages, died in a tragic road accident. The passing of such an esteemed person in the field of films has sent ripples through the film industry, and several actors and technicians have paid their tributes to this amazing journeyman.
RB Choudary had a special bond with actor Vijay and wanted him to act in his 100th film. He had earlier said in an interview with Puthiya Thalaimurai, “Vijay told me he will act in my 100th film. But now he has moved towards politics, so that dream may not happen. I feel sad about it.” He was the man who introduced Vijay through ‘Poove Unakkaga’ and later gave him major hits like ‘Love Today,’ ‘Thulladha Manamum Thullum,’ ‘Thirupaachi,’ and ‘Jilla.‘ These films played a key role in Vijay’s rise to stardom. His passing has now left this dream incomplete.
RB Choudary began his career in 1988 with the Malayalam film ‘Aadi Paapam.’ Later in 1990, he came to Tamil cinema with ‘Pudhu Vasantham,’ which turned out to be a big hit. This way, he established his production house named Super Good Films with a solid reputation. Over the years, he produced movies in different languages and earned recognition for family entertainers and commercially successful productions.
In 2021, he made a film titled ‘Kalathil Santhippom’ with his son Jiiva, which was the 90th production of Super Good Films. Later, he produced ‘Maareesan’ with Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, which became the 98th film. The upcoming ‘Magudam,’ starring Vishal, was planned as his 99th film. He was preparing to complete a grand 100-film milestone, a rare achievement in Indian cinema. RB Choudary’s sudden death has stopped that journey, but his legacy continues through his films and the many stars he helped build.
