The Assam State School Education Board has officially announced the HS result 2026 via its website, ahsec.assam.gov.in, and resultsassam.nic.in, with a pass percentage of 89.79%. Art was the largest section in Assam. In the total figure of 2,41,124, around 1,91,798 students scored successfully in the exam, leading to a pass percentage of 79.54%.The division-wise distribution is:
This shows that although many students have achieved first division marks, most of them are in the second division.
Science emerged as the best-performing stream of the year, both in terms of pass percentage and improvement trend.
Compared to the previous year’s decline, Science has shown a sharp rebound, making it the only major stream to record a clear upward trajectory. The performance has been widely viewed as a stabilising factor in this year’s overall academic outcome.
Commerce witnessed a slight fall in comparison to last year’s performance but continued to maintain a good overall record.
Even though there have been some minor fluctuations over the years, this particular stream has continued to maintain a good first division record.
Arts was the largest enrolled stream with maximum students appearing for the exam, but this stream saw a small decline in terms of pass percentage.
The large enrolment number for this stream makes it very difficult to consistently maintain good academic results year on year.
A key highlight of this year’s results is the consistent academic edge held by girl students across all streams.Arts Stream

Vocational Stream
The gap is most pronounced in Arts and Vocational streams, where girls have clearly widened the performance margin.
The participation pattern continues to reflect strong academic preferences across disciplines:
Arts continues to be the most preferred stream, especially among girls, while boys show a stronger inclination towards Science and Commerce.
