Emma Chamberlain’s dress at this year’s Met Gala was nothing short of a beautiful masterpiece. Sitting just right with the theme of the night, ‘Costume Art’ and ‘Fashion is Art’, Chamberlain stunned in a colourful floor-length gown. From avoiding the pre-Gala parties to going all in this year, Chamberlain was all about taking the Met Gala 2026 seriously.

Chamberlain took her Met Gala look to another level this time around. At the 2026 event, the podcaster and online personality wore a custom-made, bodycon dress, designed by Miguel Castro Freitas. The dress, as per Vogue, was a collaborative effort between Freitas, artist and designer Anna Deller-Yee, as well as her stylist, Jared Ellner.Yee hand-painted the entire dress into the colourful ensemble that is now going viral online. Other than this, the entire dress was made from fine art materials, and no form of fashion-based paints was used to create the dress. What makes it even more special is the fact that the dress took around 40 hours to make and become what Chamberlain e wore at the event. On top of that, since the dress was entirely hand-painted, it needed another 4 days just to properly dry out.

While talking to Vogue, Chamberlain opened up about her thoughts on this year’s Met Gala and how she is approaching it a lot more seriously than before. “I’m taking it really seriously in a way that I feel like I haven’t in the past,” she commented, further adding that this year’s theme was right up her alley. Citing that she truly believes in the ‘Fashion is Art’ theme, she also added more details about how she was inspired by for her dress.She added, “My dad is an oil painter and a watercolor painter, and I grew up in a very creative household with art all over my house. I really am someone who enjoys fashion the most when I get to be a complete blank canvas.”Emma has attended every Met Gala since her debut in 2021.
